Mermaid Waters you absolutely smashed opening day last week! We can’t thank you enough for joining us at the opening of our brand new GYG Mermaid Waters. From the early birds grabbing their Brekkie Burritos to everyone who rolled through for $5 Burritos and Bowls all day, it was an amazing celebration 🌯💥
It was an epic opening day, with plenty of hungry locals out to join the fun. We even had UniSports students in town for Uni Nationals dropping by to fuel up! Crowds rolled through all day and it was amazing to see everyone getting around the newest GYG on the Gold Coast. The area has a big mix of locals, from young families to a few of our newest fans from nearby retirement villages, giving GYG a try for the very first time.
A massive shoutout to Raissa and Isabela, the amazing franchisees behind GYG Mermaid Waters! These legends have been part of the GYG fam for over 10 years, starting out as Crew before working their way up to roles at Hola Central (Head Office). Now they are living out their dream as franchisees and we couldn’t be prouder.
“This is such a full-circle moment for us. We started our journey as crew, and over the years we’ve seen how GYG invests in people,” said Isabela.
“GYG is about more than food. It’s about building careers, giving people the chance to grow, and creating a positive impact in the community,” added Raissa.
Isa and Raissa brought the energy all day, with huge support from other GYG restaurants teams across QLD and even interstate! It was amazing to see so much support behind the duo, with Hola Central crew, family and friends all there to help on the big day. It was also so special to see Raissa’s parents come all the way from Brazil to be there! 🇧🇷💛

It was awesome meeting so many GYG fans from around Mermaid Waters who were keen to finally have their own local GYG!
