Fitzroy, what a day! A massive thank you to everyone who came out to our $5 Burritos and Bowl celebration.
Fitzroy locals were very excited for our $5 Burrito and Bowls Day. After more than five months of anticipation, guests were already lining up before we opened at 7am.
The day was steady, with local businesses on the same street as GYG visiting for $5 Burritos and Bowls. It was also great to have a Melbourne food influencer visit @tightarsesofmelbourne and try out delicious and affordable offerings. We love having the community come together over delicious and clean GYG food.
GYG merch was handed out throughout the day, with 2 lucky winners each taking home an exclusive GYG skateboard. One was a young boy visiting with his mother and father, and another was a local basketball team dining at GYG post-training, who were so excited to win the prize!
It was amazing to see visitors who had joined us for the Fitzroy opening day come back to support us on $5 day, highlighting the supportive community of Fitzroy. The Fitzroy locals and passers-by loved seeing our amazing Mariachi Band performing on the level above the restaurant, with many pedestrians stopping to watch and listen to the music.
Later in the evening, many sports teams visited GYG Fitzroy post-training, with many guests being gifted a GYG soccer ball, basketball or netball.
