Bayswater North, you absolutely smashed it! We can’t thank you enough for joining us at the grand opening of our brand-new Guzman y Gomez restaurant. From early birds queuing for Brekkie Burritos to everyone enjoying $5 Burritos and Bowls all day, it was an epic celebration 🌯💥
The restaurant was full of energy from open until close, with locals keen to check out their brand new GYG restaurant. The energy kept building throughout the day which led to a record-breaking moment, with the most burritos ever rolled in a single hour at a GYG opening!
Leading opening day was Guy Russo Jnr, who has been part of GYG for seven years and a franchisee for more than five years. He also owns and operates GYG Box Hill, Croydon and Eastland.
“Opening GYG Bayswater North is incredibly exciting,” said Guy Russo Jnr. “Across our restaurants, we now employ more than 350 people, and building great teams and creating long-term opportunities is something I’m incredibly proud of.”
This milestone also comes during a special time for Guy and his family, having recently welcomed his first baby with his wife, Andrea. It was wonderful to have the Russo family come along to celebrate the big day with the team.
The support from the Victorian GYG network was incredible – living one GYG’s core values of ‘having your back’ . Nearly every franchisee from across the state came down to lend a hand, with some managing traffic, handing out menus and running orders.
It was great to see some of the Kilsyth Basketball Junior Cobras players come down to support on the day. GYG Bayswater North is proud to support the team, helping fuel junior athletes, reinforcing GYG as fast food athletes say yes to, while continuing to back grassroots clubs locally.
