Caboolture, that opening was next level! We can’t thank you enough for showing up and making the opening of our brand new GYG one to remember. From the early birds grabbing their Brekkie Burritos and free Coffees, to everyone who rolled through for $5 Burritos and Bowls (and some epic merch!). It was an incredible day of food, fun and community!
Located right in the heart of Caboolture, this new GYG is something special, opened by Caboolture locals, for Caboolture locals.
Behind the restaurant are Jason and Lisa Deering, who have lived in the area for over 20 years. Their kids went to the local school, and now the whole family is part of the GYG crew. Both of their kids worked alongside them on opening day, making it a true family affair.
With over 30 years of experience running fast food restaurants, Jason is bringing a wealth of knowledge to their very own GYG.
“We’re so excited to be serving up fresh, clean Mexican-inspired food to our community. We live in the area and know the importance of feeding our family healthy, clean food – and now we can offer that to all Caboolture locals!” said Jason and Lisa.
The excitement around GYG Caboolture has been huge, with over 500 applications to join the team and around 80 amazing locals already hired! The energy on opening day was unreal, with crew rostered across the day to keep the good vibes (and burritos) rolling.
We also had massive support from the GYG family across Queensland, with franchisees travelling from as far as Logan and the Sunshine Coast to lend a hand and celebrate Jason and Lisa’s big day.
A huge shoutout to Restaurant Manager Hayley Dudley, who has been with GYG for almost three years. A Caboolture local herself, Hayley shares Jason and Lisa’s passion for great food and giving back to the community!
The day started with our first guest through the door, Trever who also claimed first in line at GYG Morayfield and says he’s going for a 3-peat! School kids, local professionals and families also all stopped by to grab their GYG fix. The first 100 guests scored free GYG socks, plus we handed out exclusive GYG merch, including sports balls, skateboards and water bottles!
