Dandenong North opening day was huge! A massive thank you to everyone who showed up and made the day one to remember. From the live mariachi band and exclusive merch giveaways to the endless Burritos and Bowls, the GYG energy was off the charts all day long!
Records were broken, crowds packed the restaurant from brekkie through to dinner and in the busiest hour, the team was rolling an incredible 13 burritos per minute 🙌
Leading the charge were Restaurant Manager, Max Tomkison and Assistant Restaurant Manager, Madison Pollina who were both recently promoted into these roles. Madison, a proud Dandenong local herself, joined Max in leading a powerhouse crew of more than 50 team members to feed a huge portion of the community.
This opening was extra special as it officially kicked off our exciting new partnership with the Dandenong Rangers. The NBL1 team came down to the opening to celebrate and of course power up on GYG’s burritos and bowls! A basketball hoop was set up and players from the team came down to take on guests in shooting contests, handing out GYG socks, bottles and basketballs. The Rangers mascot even joined the fun, taking photos, shooting hoops and keeping the local kids entertained long after their meals.
“We are excited to announce our partnership with GYG for our Junior and Senior Rangers basketball programs,” said Samantha Woosman, Senior Rights and Partnership Manager at the Dandenong Rangers.
“We are proud to have GYG fuelling our players as they strive for excellence on and off the court and thank GYG for investing in the future of Dandenong!”
The support from the local community was unreal, with families, students and even the Mayor of Dandenong stopping by to check out the action and grab a burrito. In true GYG spirit, we’ve also hired over 100 amazing locals to join the Dandenong North crew, bringing plenty of local energy to the restaurant.
