Mona Vale, that opening was next level! We’ve been looking forward to joining the neighbourhood, and we couldn’t be happier to finally be here. A massive thank you to everyone who showed up and made the opening of our brand new Guzman y Gomez Mona Vale restaurant one to remember!
Opening day was a perfect summer’s day, with locals showing up from open right through to close. Lots of guests came straight from the beach to fuel up on GYG, some even stopping in for Brekkie, lunch and dinner. After 3pm, school kids packed the restaurant, excited to join the opening day fun and get their hands on $5 Burritos and Bowls.
It was fantastic to see so many locals supporting their new GYG, enjoying our delicious and clean food and picking up some of the exclusive opening day merch. The GYG energy was off the charts all day long!
Leading the charge were GYG Mona Vale franchisees and childhood mates Etan Vissel and Dylan Brett who grew up on the Northern Beaches. They are so excited to finally open their first GYG restaurant together. They both joined GYG in 2020 after finishing school and bring hands-on experience across every crew role, from cook to shift leader to restaurant manager and are now realising their dream of owning their own GYG restaurant.
“We’ve been eating GYG since 2017 and have been part of the business since 2020. We know the food, and we love it. It has long been a dream to open a GYG restaurant and to do it with one of your best mates is even more special. We’re excited to open our doors and share our passion for fast, fresh, amazing Mexican with the Northern Beaches community!” Said Etan Vissel.
GYG Mona Vale is proud to be supporting the community – creating nearly 50 new jobs for locals and are already a sponsor of Manly Warringah Basketball.
“As avid sports lovers, we’re committed to supporting local sports and community initiatives, with the long-term goal contributing to the local sports landscape and helping build the next generation of athletes.” added Dylan Brett.
