Wanneroo, What an Opening!

Wanneroo, what an opening! A massive thank you to everyone who showed up to support the opening of our brand-new Guzman y Gomez Wanneroo restaurant.  

The Wanneroo community truly showed up! The energy was high from open until close, with so many guests thrilled to grab a $5 Burrito or Bowl.  

Leading opening day were franchisees Rhys and Lucy, proud Perth locals. Loyal GYG guests themselves, the pair are now building something permanent for their family of 5. 

“Opening GYG Wanneroo is the beginning of an exciting new chapter for our family,” said Rhys and Lucy. “We chose GYG because of the food, the values, and the culture it’s a brand we genuinely believe in. To be doing this back home in Perth, in a community that’s growing so fast, feels exactly right.” 

The opening of GYG Wanneroo has created 75 new local jobs, with recruitment continuing. The team brings together people from a wide range of backgrounds, united by a love of great food and a genuine desire to be part of this community, including a long-standing GYG head cook joining as a shift leader. Rhys and Lucy are already developing a partnership with a local soccer club, with plans to expand across community groups throughout Wanneroo.  

Rhys and Lucy had an amazing show of support from the local community. Guests were thrilled by the opening of GYG Wanneroo. Some guests brought flowers and one even baked GYG brand cupcakes for the crew!  

The support from across the GYG network on opening day was incredible, with crew and fellow franchisees all helping to make the day a success.
